Richard Sylvan died suddenly in April 2008 in Atlanta where he had been living. He was a retired oncologist, a member of the Mars Society, a gourmet cook and avid gardener.
We had reconnected several months before he died and were planning a reunion in Washington, DC where I live and where he was planning to attend a conference in June 2008. But he died two months before the conference.
He left me a legacy of letters and e-mails describing his life and accomplihments spanning the years from when we had last dated one another in the years 1961-1963 up until he died.
I have very fond memories and feel fortunate to have been with him emotionally and spiritually in his final days.
