Stephen Schwartz

This is reprinted from the New York Times on the news of the death of Stephen H Schwartz.....

Stephen H. Schwartz....Beloved brother, brother-in-law, uncle, grand-uncle, cousin and friend, was killed in a tragic car accident on September 22, 2010. If ever the words "He did it his way" were apt, they applied to Stephen. A true citizen of the world, he visited every corner of the globe, lived in many of them, had friends everywhere. Passionate in his commitment to ideas, political debate and cultural criticism, he lived and died a free man. He was only 66 and he will be deeply missed. Interment will be private. Shivah will be observed at the home of his brother and sister-in-law, Ellen and Michael Schwartz, New York City, Sunday-Tuesday, from 6-9pm, and Wednesday morning from 10-12. A memorial celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
