Married Michael Jacoff in 1967, remember him? He's here too!
Divorced him in 1975. Happily! Big relief!
Remarried new guy, Steve, in 1981. Good luck since then. 2 great kids. 1 sweet grandson from my son who lives in Japan.
I became a fully certified Dance Therapist in 1973, and an associate professor, working in Philadelphia, where I met Steve. We married in 1981.
Kids full time for a good while. I helped out in his energy efficiency business. Then I began pursuing artistic interests, clay first, now painting. I'm a passionate gardener, sometimes showing it with the Garden Conservancy. We moved to the Berkshires in 1989. Great move!

Who or what influenced your life's direction?

It evolved slowly. Late bloomer & all that. Always loved dance, which led to short-lived career in Dance Therapy. Passionate about parenting. Then my eye got the better of me, and I began making stuff in clay at the fabulous Clay Studio in Philly.(I still miss that place.)I was seduced by drawing and painting, pursuing that up here in the Berkshires. Since I was a child I loved growing things, and that led to the garden, of course.
We have travelled a good bit, which is divine, especially the bike trips in Italy.

What have you always wanted to do but haven't done yet?

Biked in Europe, / Asia, check.
Para glided off a mountain in Switzerland, check.
Deep sea diving off coral reefs, check, but would like to see the Great Barrier coral reef off of Australia still.
Sailed with Jacoffs, check.
Eaten bamboo worms and other exotics, check.
Get into a gallery in NYC, anyone out there with connections?

What would we be surprised to know about you?

That I can pretty easily get up in front of an audience and talk. Not shy any more!

Pamela Cantor’s lovely and poignant description of experiences with Diana echoed mine almost exactly (except for the leotards). Throughout all of our years as friends from high school up to the present, Diana was a dear, honest, attentive, gracious, and loving friend. Each visit, each email was an event. Yet on a larger scale, at no time did Diana miss the mark. She lived all of her life consciously, appreciating what had been offered and giving back in full measure through her multiple talents of dancing, writing, painting, and her exceptional gardening. When a life-threatening disease challenged her, she faced it with square shoulders and with great fortitude did all she could to fight it. Recently, Diana sent an announcement to her friends that current tests revealed a pause in the disease’s lethal progression. As we all breathed a sigh of relief, Diana in true form ended the email with wry humor (and I paraphrase) “At least this year my name will be written in the Book of Life.” And so, I didn’t expect her passing to be this soon. As for her name, we can continue her wish and say her name in prayer, conversations, and in thoughts. And, we can do it forever.
